Âé¶¹´«Ã½ is a small and compact city, and everything is within easy walking distance. Just minutes from the bustling centre, you can enjoy the tranquility of leafy riverside footpaths along the banks of the River Wear, or the changing seasonal displays at the Botanic Garden.

The Oriental and Archeological Museums hold fascinating collections of international significance, as well as offering key insights into local history.

Since the 1900’s Brown’s Rowing Boats has been the place to hire a rowing boat. Their traditional hand built rowing boats are available for a leisurely row along the River Wear in the heart of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ City.
